M.G. Ertosun, PhD - Author of The Unbroken Mirror

About the Author

Born along the Mediterranean coast and later drawn to California, the author spent years in the academic halls of Stanford University, earning advanced degrees in science and engineering, including two master's degrees, a doctorate and postdoctoral & research fellowships at Stanford School of Medicine. The author's journey continued into Silicon Valley's startup world, where technology and innovation became daily companions.

But alongside this external journey, a quieter exploration was unfolding. The same curiosity that drove scientific research began turning inward, asking the most fundamental questions: Who am I? What is real? How shall I live?

This inquiry led through various wisdom traditions—Buddhism and Christianity, Sufism and Judaism, Vedanta and Taoism. Not as a collector of beliefs or practices, but as a simple investigation into what remains constant across all seeking. Through years of meditation and contemplation, the same recognition kept emerging: what we seek, we already are.

The conversations in "The Unbroken Mirror: Conversations on Awakening" arise from a life that has moved between two worlds—the rigorous landscape of scientific inquiry and the timeless territory of spiritual recognition.

These conversations aren't the result of special qualifications. They arise from the same awareness that is reading these words right now—the ordinary, obvious presence that we all are before we think we are anything in particular.

Whether analyzing data in a laboratory or sitting in silent meditation, whether navigating startup challenges or exploring ancient wisdom texts, the same awareness was always present, always looking, always recognizing itself through infinite forms of experience.

The author's academic background brings clarity and precision to these conversations, while years of spiritual inquiry provide the understanding that what we truly are cannot be grasped by the mind—it can only be recognized as what we already, always are.

These dialogues emerge from the recognition that consciousness exploring itself through science and consciousness exploring itself through spirituality are the same exploration. The electron microscope and the meditation cushion point toward the same mystery: the aware presence in which all experience arises and dissolves.

The author continues to live and work in California, writing and sharing these conversations not as a teacher with special knowledge, but as awareness celebrating its own recognition through the beautiful play of apparent dialogue.

After all, who is there to be an author when these words are consciousness writing about itself to itself?
